This is a weblog of one person's multi-year quest to write, draw, and publish a graphic novel. This is my story: my trials, tribulations, successes and failures. -- Robert Stradley, Weekend Artist January 2021. Updated pertinent information and habitats in Races and Cultures Revised, now 292 pages, rather than trying to complete the Almanac. Gave up on Almanac for now. It is much to extensive to complete in any reasonable time frame. Allocated information to Geography and Knothaven documents. Geography will be completed section by section as needed for the Adventures. Knothaven will be completed in time for Adventure 2: The Magiqual Mob Boss. Restarted the Clue in the Crumbly Chateau with a tentative publishing date of December 2021. Decided to delay full graphic novel of Adventure 1 and complete it as an illustrated novel. This is not as easy as it sounds: I have to rewrite as a novel with full descriptions of people, places, and things, because the previous script was in webcomic format. February 2021 Reworked timeline of Clue's chapters, and rationalized Cyrus' timeline to make all the ages and dates of these major characters fit the storyline. Revised the AGP [after Great Plague] dates including the start of the Great Conflict to agree with previously published information on JC and the other villains. Finished designing the calendar: 8 day week, 5 week month, and 8 month calendar to fit the 4's and 8's in the storyline. There are 24 hours per day. This occurs in 4 groups of 6 hours - Morning, Afternoon, Evening, Night. There are 8 days per week, 5 weeks per month, 2 months per quarter [80 days per quarter], 4 quarters per year, 320 days per year. Weekdays: Sunsday [also Gottsday in Zwergland or Churchday in Calabria and the Midlands], Moonsday, Amoréday, Njordsday, Mittweek, Ballinsday, Fioriday, Sedyrday. Months are: Veederburt, Prancetime, Drevno, Ehrda, Worksong, Lautum, Kaiyoo, Śnieg. Wrote first 6 chapters of Clue, illustrations to follow with editing. Current estimate is 30 Chapters and about 250 pp. It is much lighter, more of a mysterie rather than a story of betrayal and revenge. It is also wreitten in a breezier YA [Young Adult] style, with less detail, more action, and more wit. The angst has been deleted completely. As I wrote one chapter I realized that JC doesn't like Phineas Dramm either, so expect an early demise for this crabby bratpacker villain. I can barely imagine what JC's opinion of Captain Thobbin is going to be to send him at the head of the Gomlin Army at the end of Adventure 1.
