This is a weblog of one person's multi-year quest to write, draw, and publish a graphic novel. This is my story: my trials, tribulations, successes and failures. -- Robert Stradley, Weekend Artist January 2016. This year, we are concentrating our efforts on writing, illustrating, and publishing the Guide Magique. Once again, the Unknown Scribe has set quill to paper in this fourth Tome of the Amberleigh Chronicles series, producing a Guide Magique -- the definitive text to scientific Magie. In the world of Leeland, Magie is a tool; Magie is a weapon; and Magie is power in material form. Undertaken at great personal risk, the Unknown Scribe exposes for the first time the hidden backgrounds and passions of legions of Elfish professors, Human Court Wizards, and Thallic Shamans in an exposé of the shocking and often overheated world behind the Magique Veil. Delving into the study of Magie at the Université Magique, this Tome discusses all of the basic aspects of Magie: the 8 éléments; spells as a 4 step process [gathering énergie, using machinery, casting, and end results]; spell types and spell trees; design of spell demolition armor; as well as the path of a typical student at the 3 schools at UM. The Guide elucidates the mysterious, sheds light upon the stygian, and presents the answers to critical questions such as: 1. Why is Magie so hard? 2. Why are Portals forbidden? 3. What really happens when you change your skin to stone armor? After reading this tome you too will understand the Arts Magique in the world of Amberleigh. May 2016 Finished rough draft of Magie.
