Cultures

Being a primer on the cultures of the world of Leeland.

Pixies:

Appearance: Pink skin, small [approximately 12 inches tall]. Standard humanoid dimensional ratio. Wings attached to the back muscles. Clothing is basic.

Common culture: Impish delight, instant gratification, avarice, short attention span.  Always watching and focused in right now. Humans are an endless source of amusement.  She has a need to acquire stuff and possessions.  A bit like Tony Curtis in Operation Petticoat, “In confusion, there is profit.”  Likes disorder.

Pixies are living contradictions, because they're filled with Air and Stone properties, which make up vast majority of illusions.  Have dangerous affinity for fire [mothlike]. Can fit into small places. Can see in dark.

Pixies have strong illusion magic.  Illusions are both auditory and visual.  Cantrips like trip, sneeze, etc. they can change the appearance of their clothes at will.

Originally live in Pixie Valley, but some get wanderlust and travel. In a small town, Pixies are like a plague.  Sightseeing and playing tricks.

Pixies don’t admit to helping out.  It is done behind closed doors or surreptitiously.  That made it fun.

Pixie families are large, boisterous, with light affection and community.  But not organized, they are spontaneous and instantaneous.

Love is light and breezy.  It is as common as affection and as strong.  Humans are always 1 to 1.  Why?  Love is not like a possession.  We say, don’t go all Human on me here.  Love should be fun and happy, not painful.
